This afternoon, my good friend and fellow photographer, Paul, came by to share with me some photographic techniques for outdoors shooting. I learned a great deal about lighting and posing. It was a fun afternoon, and Amber was very gracious to endure the posing pain as we tried different techniques.

Another photo of Amber taken outdoors using the techniques shared by Paul.

A trip this morning to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands proved to be a great photo opportunity. I met up with a few friends from ACES camera club. It was very foggy when we arrived, but within an hour or so the wildlife started their morning routine. This photo was processed through PS as monochrome and then had some filters applied. I love the creepy swamp feeling this photo ended up with. A great time with friends!

Time for breakfast!

An assortment of little critters everywhere. This HUGE spider was biding time waiting for breakfast. This small version of the picture does not do justice to the complexity of the web. The dew on the web was a nice addition.

Another great day at Disneyland. This was Isabelle's second trip to the Magic Kindom, and I think she enjoy this visit even more than her first time. Stephanie and Hippie had a great time too. This is the photo they chose for their Christmas card. I think it is a great shot of their family!

Mom and Isabelle during her first driving lesson. I think Mommy looks a little worried that Isabelle is turning the car towards the ice cream cart :)

A late entry from a previous GGHS football game. Grove dominated this mostly passing game.

Isabelle sneaking candy from the bowl while grandma is not watching, but Papa was right there with the camera - surprise! Gotcha!

Tinker Bell jumping around the house (she doesn't fly yet).

Today was time for our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. Here we have Isabelle picking out her own pumpkin. It was all she could do to hold on to the big round orange blob.

We did more than just pick out our pumpkins!

Kelly and I arrived at the the 35th annual Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta at 4:30 am. There were thousands of people already staking out their turf on the lauch field. It was raining when we arrived so the balloon launch was delayed an hour. The weather cleared for a short period of time allowing the launches to go forth. It was a great experience. To see all of the balloon shots please visit my web site www.garysphotographs.com Go to "Galleries" then "Fun Stuff" and finally "Fall Vacation"

Making our way to the South entrance of the Grand Canyon. We will be spending three days at the national park before moving on to Flagstaff.

A shot of the Grand Canyon, looking West from the Desert View area.

The weather was mostly cloudy and rain, but we managed to get a few shots of the Grand Canyon before we left.

A guest in our campground at the Grand Canyon. We saw many mule deer and elk throughout the park.

Kelly and I finished our Saturday chores, so we decided to head on down to the wildlife reserve. We arrived at 4:30pm and stayed for two hours. The weather was beautiful and there was a lot of bird activity. We ran into a half-dozen other photographers. Some additional action shots follow.

This is a photo taken earlier this year of a pelican from La Jolla. During some housecleaning, I discovered a series of these images.

We made a weekend trip to Pismo Beach to visit with some good friends who moved there a few months ago. This outing was our maiden trip with the new trailer. From Pismo Beach, we traveled a few minutes north to Morro Bay. This area is rich with photographic subjects. This view of Morro Rock was taken from our hike up to the top of Black Hill.

Scores of hawks were easily photographed while on the beach in Morro Bay.
