Today is the start of the 50th Annual Garden Grove Strawberry Festival. One of our favorite festival activities is attending the Tiny Tot Contest. Last year, Isabelle won "Best Smile" category. Isabelle moved up the ladder and was winner of the 3-year old girls category. This photo is from the studio just before leaving for the contest. We had to capture the wonderful dress made especially for Isabelle by her Aunt Donna. In attendance were Isabelles two grandma's and her grandpa, her great-grandma and great grandpa, cousin Tootie, uncle Mark, and Mommy & Daddy. We had a great time watching Isabelle on stage, even though it rained through most of the ceremony.

Isabelle had quite a story to tell to the show's host. She went on into a full conversation with the audience, and she did not appear shy or apprehensive at all. I think this sealed her win with the judges. It's official, Isabelle is carrying on the torch passed to her by Mommy and Uncle Kyle, both who won titles at the same competition many years ago.

Today, after church, Kelly and I make a visit to the Chalk Festival in Mission Viejo. Our pastor's wife Rebecca is an artist, and we went to check out her work. WOW, what a fantastic job she did (with help from her whole family). This was a fun event with lots of activities for the whole family. Great job Rebecca! Our studio's new package "Birth To Birthday" has really taken off. Today, this client had her baby boy's third month pictures taken in the studio. This is one of my favorite shots of the day.

Today was Garden Grove Fire Department's "Fire Service Day". This is always a great event, and Kelly and I try to attend each year. There were plenty of photo opportunities. Stephanie and Isabelle also attended, and they had an equally fun time. This was also an outing for our camera club, and it was good to see some of our members there. Putting out a car fire is a very dangerous and smoky job!

Isabelle tried her hand at firefighting. She had a really good time spraying the water.

The C.E.R.T. volunteers were present to demonstrate home safety techniques. This little firefighter did a great job (once he got the nozzle pointed at the fire).

Firefighters cut the roof off of a car to extract the patient. It is amazing how fast they can accomplish this.

While visting with her cousins, Isabelle decided to jump in and have a few pictures of her own. In this shot, Isabelle is being mysterious and playing peek-a-boo with a Japanese fan.
